The more things that are open, the slower your system will run. Spyware
and malware are serious performance killers too. Click on the link

Printers:
When you purchase a new printer, remember to add it to the list
of printers for your computer. This will allow you to print to your
new printer. If you have a network printer remember to check you TCP/IP
setup.
Need more Memory?
Adding more memory (RAM) is the single most
ecconomical way to increase your systems performance. Want to know
exactly what you should get for your specific sytem? Well why not get
your RAM where I get my RAM. The Crucial
System Scanner takes the guesswork out of upgrading your memory.
Do your part to prevent the spread of Virus Hoaxes
There are almost as many virus hoaxes out there as there are
true viruses. A hoax is harmless and is basically a rumor designed
to clog mail servers and spread panic. They are generally messages
sent or forwarded via e-mail warning of some particularly nasty virus
and requesting that you forward the message to everyone on the planet.
Rarely are these warnings legitimate, most times they are
hoaxes. Just delete them. Still paranoid? Check it out
before ignoring or forwarding the message to everyone on your e-mail
list! How? Go to Symantec's
AntiVirus Research Center Hoax Page . They list known
hoaxes with examples.
What to do with chain e-mails
If you receive a "chain" e-mail that
threatens bad luck if it isn't sent on to ten other people, retaliate
by sending it 10 times to the person who sent it to you. (That should
teach them!)
Respect and Protect your friends privacy
Remember, when sending e-mails to multiple recipients at one
time that some of those people might not appreciate your reveling of
their e-mail addresses to everyone else. Do the right thing and
use use BCC (blind carbon copy) instead of TO:.
